Lawn Begone: Church In Falmouth Starts Permaculture Garden

This past Saturday, May 27, more than 60 volunteers came out to help plant a new permaculture garden at St. Barnabas's Episcopal Church on Main Street.

The 2,500-square-foot garden is located on the church property beside Siders Pond. A section of lawn previously used for auxiliary parking is now covered with "lasagna layers" of cardboard, grass clippings, coffee grounds, and seaweed, leader of the church's Creation Care Ministry Kirstin S. Meyer-Kaiser explained.
